This August, Leicester Mela Festival returns once again to Abbey Park, bringing the very best of South Asian entertainment, street performances, arts, culture and food.

After making a spectacular comeback in 2024, this year’s event promises to be even
bigger and better!

Last year Leicester Mela Festival welcomed over 15,000+ visitors, 30+ different performers, top headliners and 50+ vibrant stalls. Don’t miss this unforgettable celebration of culture and community!

South Asian Arts

We are inviting the whole of the UK to experience a glittering mix of live music, dance, food, fashion, arts and culture at the Leicester Mela Festival. Savour authentic dishes from across the Indian subcontinent, bursting with flavour and tradition.

Performers

The Leicester Mela festival hosts a diverse programme of performances, including dance schools, dhol players, live music from some of the biggest stars in the Asian community, and upcoming local artists.

Family Village

We have lots of fun activities for children, from arts and crafts, puppet performances, workshops, henna, games and more.

Mela Bazaar

The Mela Bazaar is a traditional Indian shopping market, popular for its choice of stunning jewellery, clothes, toys, accessories, bridal products, confectionery, and more. With a number of different stalls, you will be spoilt for choice.

Food Village

Treat your taste buds to a selection of delicious street foods, from samosas, IndoChinese dishes, fresh coconut water, kulfi ice cream, chai, bhajis and many more Asian delicacies.

Indian Circus

Circus Raj features Indian street performers delivering colourful, high-energy shows with acrobatics, music, and spectacle—delighting audiences of all ages at melas and festivals.

Funfair

Operated by Billy Bates & Sons, this year’s Mela will include a marvellous funfair, with lots of fun rides and bouncy castles.
